Quiet Morning

The trouble is far from resolved, but the relative safety of the manor does lead me to sleep in a bit, catching up on what I missed on the frantic ride here to rescue Eliza.

It's midday and the smell of sweet bread wafts into the room by the time I awaken.

Nice silk clothes were left for me on a chair by some servant. I ignore them, but I do take the liberty of scrubbing down in the hot bath that has been drawn for me before I leave the room in search of the smell of food.

Gerald and Eliza are already at the table when I arrive at the dining hall, quietly talking to each other as they eat something.

Before I can worry over what to do about my hunger, Lucas appears, shambling into the room with messy hair and a sleep-filled face. His eyes are a bit hazy, as if he'd only recently awoken himself.

Despite this, a sleepy grin appears on his face when he sees me. "Diane~! Sleep well?"
