Vivian

We depart early the next morning with plenty of thanks and some supplies to last us for a day or two.

Lady Vivian lives just outside of town, near a series of ponds and streams that border the land where her estate resides. It's not especially large, but it looks well kept and has plenty of farmland as well as animals grazing.

We enter the courtyard with relatively few issues.

Two men, clearly guards, approach us with wary expressions. One of them moves to bar our path and lifts his spear a bit, holding it forward to keep us back. "...State your business."

I speak this time. "We're here on business from the king. I need to speak with Lady Vivian."

His brows go up, and the two share a glance, but he says nothing as they step aside.

"Stable your horses." The first guard gives us a short nod. "We'll notify the lady."

"Thank you." I give a short nod to him as we guide the horses toward the stable.
