Snow in the Rain

The rain is too heavy for us to leave - the wagon would sink in the mud at this point. After at least two days of downpour the dirt roads we'll be traveling will be too saturated to keep their shape.

We could make it on horseback, but that would preclude the possibility of taking May with us.

And...

I'm just...

Not sure I trust the idea of leaving May behind right now.

Not when Beatrix is involved in this. Not when I don't know what her role or intent is, and not when I know she won't hesitate to terrorize and hurt May just to try to get some kind of advantage or make a point.

And so...

We're still in the manor.

It's too rainy for May to go outside today.

And it's been raining for a couple days straight now, so I suspect it will be at least another few.

A young servant boy has taken the liberty to bring us snacks.

Chocolate.
