Tagging Out

"Hey." I lean back to look at Valentine. "Good timing. Switch out with me."

Lucas seems relieved by my timing. "Please. He's a menace. I can't deal with the world before coffee, not when he's in it."

Valentine lifts a brow. "Psssht." He dismisses Lucas and flutters his hands, seemingly nonchalant.

"Alright, then. I suppose I should relieve you." He agrees easily and walks over to take over the reigns from me.

I pull myself back into the wagon from the driver's bench.

I manage to steady myself just in time to be ready for a May Missile Attack, the child colliding with me in an excited tackle hug as soon as my feet hit the floor.

"Morning Auntie!"

I smile, and pat her head fondly. "Good morning, May." I greet back warmly.

Roland cracks open an eyelid, then blinks slowly, like a sleepy bear.

May beams at Roland, and Roland blinks at her slowly once again, then huffs, like the lazy old man he is.
