"Bad boy," Amunet commended as she felt Allen's dragon awaken, the heat burning from both of their bodies unreal as there was a steam of lust in the air that crackled with intensity.
Amunet got off Allen and fell to her knees. Moving her delicate, gentle hands, she began to caress Allen, slowly advancing upward. Allen looked at her lewd expression with satisfaction as a smug smile formed on his face.
Amunet was about to bring out the awakened dragon. However, in that moment, a voice resounded, stunning both of them in their steps as they recognized it as Eisha's voice. "Allen, are you in here?" her voice called out as the room was a bit dim and her eyes had not adjusted to it just yet.
Amunet stood up with professionalism and reluctantly went behind the counter. She took her Phoenix Sunrise drink, sipping it with a deep sigh of disappointment, while trying to avoid Allen's gaze.
Allen, after watching Amunet walk behind the counter, also hurriedly stood to his feet, seating himself on the opposite side of the counter. He took his Dragon's Breath Brew as Eisha's figure slowly manifested nearby.
"Allen, so you are here," Eisha affirmed, her heart warming up at the sight of Allen, someone to whom she wanted her heart to belong. Her face blushed a bit, but then she finally noticed Amunet, who was unusually quiet for someone of her attitude.
"Ms. Amunet, you are also here?" Eisha greeted before she followed up with a question. At that moment, her thoughts slowly turned dirty as she wondered if something had happened between Allen and Amunet, though she quickly dismissed those thoughts as soon as they surfaced. Her trust for Allen boundless and unwavering.
"I am just trying to celebrate his successful awakening with a nice drink," she replied with a forced smile, but she couldn't maintain it for long before she proceeded to exit the bar room, closing the door softly after her.
Eisha, who watched as Amunet left, immediately felt more at ease. She could finally have a conversation with Allen, and she also knew she could get the chance to ask if he was going to be free anytime soon.
"So how was the awakening? What system did you awaken?" she asked, wishing he had awakened a low-rank system so he wouldn't want to become a monster hunter, for both his safety and her selfish desires.
"It went well, and I awakened an iron-rank system," he replied with a downward tone to make it seem true as he didn't know what his system truly was though at least until he knew more about his system and its capabilities.
"Oh, that's... Allen, I hope you won't try to pursue this monster hunter career," she said with a worried gaze that begged for acceptance, as she wanted Allen to stay at the restaurant with her.
Allen, however, could not agree to such a request. Even if his system was iron rank, which it definitely wasn't, he would still pursue the job of monster hunting. He knew he had to get enough to protect himself and those he truly cherished.
"Eisha, I'm sorry, but I can't do that. I have promised myself.. and my dad that no matter what system I awaken, I will pursue my dream no matter what it takes," Allen resounded with absoluteness and unwavering will evident in his voice.
Allen's gaze stayed firm as he knew, in a world of monstrous capabilities where people could shake mountains and raise seas, and possessing the capabilities to reach those levels despite the difficulty. Not taking such a chance was no more than a serious crime in Allen's sight.
"But Allen, it's dangerous," Eisha said, her voice filled with conviction, but she was met with Allen's unfazed reaction. In that moment, their gazes met, and immediately she knew her efforts would be in vain. His gaze was something she recognized and had once acknowledged.
"He won't listen, will he?" she questioned internally, forced to swallow her efforts, knowing she wasn't going to make an impact once he made his decision.
"Eisha, don't worry. I will make sure to stay safe," Allen reassured, placing his hands on her shoulders. Oddly, this gesture brought comfort and assurance to her, and she felt her face flush slightly at how warm his hands were.
"You promise?" she asked for confirmation, her gaze avoiding his as she wondered if it would be the right time to ask of his schedule.
"Of course, I promise. Now, I would like to get some food. I am famished," he said, remembering that he had kept Jackie waiting in the restaurant for some minutes.
Allen then grabbed his drink, instantly chugging it down and honestly he immediately regretted it as his throat began to burn ferociously, his eyes dripping with uncontrolled tears but he held his demeanor, trying to hide it from Eisha, who had already noticed but ignored, only smiling internally at his attempts to conceal it.
After a few minutes, the burns finally died down, and he left the bar room, heading to the dining area. Upon appearing Jackie gave him a suspicious glare that seemed to pierce through his existence.
"What?" he questioned, noticing the glare he received, wondering if his friend had really deduced something. He knew his friend was likely the incarnation of the God of detectives.
"Oh, I don't know," Jackie said, meeting Allen's gaze, which seemed to pierce through him. "But I just seem to wonder what might have happened in there."
"Nothing happened," he replied carefreely, failing to show any hesitation. He grabbed the menu before Jackie could continue with his onslaught of questions.
"Yo, Paul!" Allen called out eagerly, his stomach roaring with anticipation for the delectable delights ahead. "This world's food is on another level, man," he remarked internally, comparing it favorably to his previous experiences.
"What are you having?" Paul inquired, holding a note at hand. Allen, brimming with excitement, eagerly grabbed the menu, relishing the abundance of meal options before him.
"I'll have the Glowberry glazed wings with a glass of Sunburst Citrus mixed with the special," Allen relayed as he placed his order.
The Glowberry glazed wings featured strawberries enriched in Mana, infusing the chicken wings with a new level of taste and nutrition before being roasted to perfection.
As for the Stardust Citrus, it's like an upgraded version of orange juice with a hint of alcohol, striking the perfect balance between sweetness and a subtle burn.
Jackie and Allen placed their orders, and within the next ten minutes, their food arrived, served under domes and placed neatly on their table. They dug in eagerly, devouring the generous portions with gusto. In just twenty minutes, the large serving of Glowberry glazed wings disappeared, prompting them to order more food to satisfy their voracious appetites.
After they polished off their meal, Jackie took care of the bill, sending a total of over two thousand star credits. Aware of Allen's current financial situation, Jackie felt it was only fair to lend a helping hand to his friend.
"Jackie, let's go," Allen called out, stepping out of the restaurant, prompting Jackie to quickly follow along.
"Allen," Amunet called out, striding over with her usual grace. Allen instinctively turned his back, facing away from her as she approached.
He couldn't help but wonder what she might want this time, feeling a twinge of disappointment at the interrupted moment.
"I just wanted to give you this," Amunet said softly, reaching out to place a card-like object in Allen's hands. Allen savored the warmth of her touch for a brief moment before she withdrew, leaving him with a sigh of dissatisfaction lingering in the air.
At that moment, Allen swiftly tucked the card into his pocket, hoping to keep it hidden from Jackie's keen observation, even though he hadn't yet checked its contents.
But evading Jackie's omniscient gaze proved nearly impossible as his friend smiled knowingly at Allen's attempt to conceal something.
After the brief exchange between Allen and Amunet, Jackie and Allen hopped into the ordered vehicle, which promptly whisked them away to their respective homes. As they exchanged farewells, they parted ways, their evening coming to a close.
*Click.* Allen pushed open the door to his room, shedding the shirt that clung to his tired body before collapsing onto the bed in a heap of exhaustion. He sighed heavily, reflecting on the day's events, before a mischievous smile tugged at his lips.
Retrieving the card from his pocket, a surge of anticipation coursed through Allen as he examined its contents. Almost instantly, a triumphant grin spread across his face.
The card held the address to Amunet's apartment, a tantalizing invitation that sparked excitement in Allen's weary mind.
"Well, what can I say? I am indeed handsome," Allen remarked, acknowledging his own charm with a hint of self-assuredness. He couldn't help but recognize the potent effect his charisma had on others, a poison that could bypass any antidote or immunity, eliciting an uncontrollable smile from him in the process.
He mused to himself that the acknowledgment of one's own charm was a poison to the heart.
"Now, this system," he continued, summoning the system into existence with a mere thought. In the next moment, a red transparent panel materialized before him, ready to heed his commands.
