The announcement of the Grand Council was met with relief but the Mages didn't know that they were soon about to be depressed.
"The Mage Council shall be assigning an investigator on this matter as well. A Mage of no less than Four stars shall be appointed and will have the full authority to matters of the Mage Tower if he chooses to do so.
His authority will exceed the Mage Tower's even if you gather 90% of the votes." The voice declared.
"What!?" The mages were stunned upon hearing this.
"An investigator?"
"But we are already going to be investigating the matter of their deaths." One of the more senior mages spoke in confusion.
"Silence!" The voice commanded, not wishing to listen to the grumblings of the juniors.
The hall immediately became silent and the mages realized that they should have held their tongues from the start.
"The appointment of an Investigator is not for the matter of the death." The voice spoke.
