A Safe Space for Natalie

"What is this, the silent treatment!" she squeaked, "What are you, seven?"

Kevin continued to pout instead of using his mouth to give a coherent answer. He hadn't said a word since they left the mansion.

"Hey!" She hit his shoulder, "Why are you being a jerk to me!"

"We're here," he announced and pointed to the two-story building next to them.

"…So close?"

The workshop of her dreams was conveniently located between the Valois mansion and the hospital she had all those tests in. Natalie looked up at the familiar sight; it was just like the pictures she had seen of the place, but she was not in the right state of mind to check it out right now.

"Argh! I should be the one getting mad here! What's up with you, showing up with theories about me being a prisoner in a dark mansion and testing your importance by making me chase after you?"

Her jaw dropped when Kevin unbuckled his seat belt and got out without a word.

"Kevin!"
