Anna could no longer recall how long had passed after she entered the gray fog.
She wasn't getting hungry or getting tired inside the fog, and it even felt like she was in a trance for a long time. She had been wandering alone for several days, with only her dog as her companion.
She had lost her family, her friends, and her home to the zombies. At this time, she was simply trying to survive, one day at a time.
Her dog, Lucky, was a border collie with black and white fur and brown eyes. He was loyal, smart, and brave dog, and he had saved her life many times by alerting her of zombies, finding food and water, and fighting off attackers.
Lucky seemed to have weakened after entering the gray fog, but fortunately, before it could get any worse, something unexpected happened.
She heard a mysterious message from the Lord of the Realms about the Foreign Survivors, and soon, she was out of the fog!
'Foreign Survivors, huh… I guess it's not bad working for them…' Anna thought to herself after hearing the mysterious voice...
Furthermore, her Unique Skill wasn't even compatible with combat, so it was better to find a shelter with strong fighters if she wanted to survive.
Since she was finally out of the gray fog, she had decided to look for the shelter, hoping to find some safety and comfort.
"Lucky… Did you notice someone else's scent? Make sure they're not from zombies, okay?" Anna said to the dog that was already wagging its tail.
It seemed that he had found some other Survivors!
She then allowed the dog to lead her elsewhere.
During this time, she had avoided zombies and other dangers, and kept her dog close to her.
Soon, she found traces of light coming from a distance… There were also silhouettes of small buildings around the place, so it seemed that she really found a shelter!
As she got closer, she realized that one part of the area had a fence around it. To be exact, the fenced area covered five small houses not too far from the ruined manor and church.
The fence was made of metal bars and wire. It had some traps around it, such as spikes and nets.
She had approached the shelter cautiously, looking for any signs of life. She didn't want to make unnecessary noise as it may attract zombies instead of people.
Soon, she saw two men, probably father and son, coming out of the shelter. She only had a dull knife as her weapon and she didn't even bother taking it out as she held Lucky's leash tightly.
"It's a girl and a dog this time, huh…"
They didn't look too surprised about her arrival, and they even seemed to be expecting her!
"You're not followed by Zombies, are you?" The handsome man in his early twenties asked after seeing her.
His black hair and eyes made her nervous a little after being gazed at. He was also fully equipped with his leather jacket and pants, which seemed to be made of the highest quality materials.
Furthermore, he had a hatchet and a revolver on his belt, which made him look strong and confident.
"I'm not being followed… At the very least, not that I know of…" Anna replied.
"Right… I'm Anna, and this is Lucky." She said, pointing to her dog.
Shane looked at the two with interest since he hadn't expected such a pair to arrive in his shelter.
Anna had black hair and blue eyes, which was quite mesmerizing. She wore a simple sweater and pants and was only carrying a backpack and a knife on her waist.
Although she didn't look injured, she looked tired and weary.
"What are you doing here? I mean, how did you get here?" Harper asked. He was also fully equipped like Shane. He wore a Hunter Jacket and rugged pants. He also had a pickaxe and a dagger on his belt…
"I'm looking for a place to stay, someone with a Foreign Survivor. Is this the right place?" She asked.
Shane wasn't surprised by this question and nodded.
"Yes, this is my shelter and I'm what you call a Foreign Survivor. I'm Shane, and this is Harper. You're right on time… We are preparing for the Zombie Wave, it's special event that will test our skills and survival. We are willing to share our shelter with you, as long as you follow our rules and contribute to our small community." Shane said.
"Really? You would let me stay here?" She asked, feeling hopeful.
"Of course. We are not selfish or cruel. We are here to help each other. As long as you are not a troublemaker or a freeloader, you are welcome here." Shane said.
"Thank you! I will work hard. Right, you must be curious about my skills. I will show you my Survivor Skills. Lucky, you do the same…" She said, feeling grateful.
