To Protect the Truth

- DOMINIK -

Walking back up to our wing of the mansion, I'm taking my time and thinking about what Matvey said, what Luka must have told him, how that conversation between them even came to be and all the implications of what Matvey thinks he knows—or what he wants me to think he knows.

Is there more Matvey is aware of? Can Luka really control the narrative like he said?

The house is quiet—its tall ceilings and wide halls appearing more ominous and empty in the darkness and silence of night and with all the unknowns filling it. No one is up and stirring now that Jeffrey has officially retired after delivering his message and Matvey is sequestered in his office.

I wonder if Luka is here. He must be. The jobs he is given do not require him to be out on his own. They typically only require his brain.
