Theoretical Knowledge Class Teacher, Simon

"Alright." Linda clapped her hands. "Now, on to the next theme. I will briefly explain the subjects you will be learning this year."

Though some students knew about the classes because they came from either a rich family or a beast-tamer family, the majority of the children did not know anything about the classes, including Alden. This topic greatly interested him.

However, though he was interested in the subjects, he could not help but feel a worry in the back of his mind.

So far, it has been one day since he had come to the academy, and he has not experienced any accidents. He knew the bullying was inevitable, so he just hoped his luck would last a few more days and he would not cross any bullies.

"I will first talk about my subject." Linda continued speaking. "As I am the teacher of the Practical Lessons class, I will explain all you need to know about my class.

In practical lessons class, you would spar with your classmates. Sometimes, we will have joint lessons with some other class. There might even be joint lessons with more than one class.

I have to warn you, those joint lessons are tough. And there is no place for weaklings. The weaklings will be beaten and humiliated. They would not be able to get out of bed for days.

I can also argue that the class I teach is the most dangerous. There will be lessons outside of the walls of the academy city, which means you will fight against beasts. And you may lose your life."

The students coming from powerful families could not help but gulp hard. They were terrified as they knew this was not extraversion. They have heard from their parents about students getting eaten during a battle against a wild beast in the Practical Lessons class.

"The second subject you will have this year is Theoretical Knowledge. In this class, you will learn all the theories of the beast-taming world and the important figures of the past.

After this homeroom class, the teacher for the Theoretical Knowledge class will come. He will also hand you the cultivation techniques and will explain everything you need to know."

After Linda explained the Theoretical Knowledge class, some of the students raised their hands. They had questions, but as Linda previously said, she was only going to briefly explain the other classes, and she kept to it. She was not open to questions.

"Third," She continued. "The Beasts Class. In this class, you will learn about the beasts, their elements, and weaknesses."

"And fourth, you will have Technology classes," Linda said, this time not giving a chance to the students to even raise their hands. "In this class, you would mostly learn about the different weapons made using the beast crystals."

With this, Linda finished explaining to the kids about the classes.

Till the end of the class, Linda explained to the students the rules of the academy and occasionally gave examples of what happened to students who did not follow the rules.

While in the middle of her talk, the bell rang, indicating the end of the class.

"Alright, that's all," Linda said. "You have a five-minute break before the other teacher enters the classroom. Your next class will be Theoretical Knowledge, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask him."

Linda took her book from the teacher's desk and left the classroom.

"She is strict."

"I don't like her."

As soon as she left, chatter spread throughout the classroom.

"Fucking bitch!" Carol cursed. "How dare she humiliate me in front of the class?! Does she not know who my father is?"

"Carol, please calm down a bit." A student who was by Carol's side said. He had a block-shaped head. "She is still a teacher. And if she dares to treat you like that, she must be quite powerful."

Slap!

A loud slap echoed in the classroom, resulting in all the students turning toward the source.

Carol slapped the student who just tried to calm him down.

"Shut up!" Carol shouted at him. "Who are you to try and lecture me? I will make her pay for what she did."

"Carol, calm down." Another friend of his said. Well, a lackey was a better word for them. He was severely overweight. "Why don't you relieve your boredom with her." The lackey pointed at the silver-haired beauty, Chloe.

Carol smiled. "That's what I am talking about. I need good ideas such as this."

Almost all the students in the classroom heard this conversation, including Chloe herself.

'No,' Alden's heart sank. He knew what followed and wanted to help Chloe but was too afraid. He was too weak. If he got involved, the hellish days he expected at the academy would turn even worse.

He could only gulp in regret and turn his head away.

Carol stood up from his seat and walked over to Chloe.

"Hey." He spoke to her with an arrogant smirk on his face.

"Scram," Chloe said calmly, not even looking at him. She did not give him a chance to continue speaking.

The veins on Carol's forehead bulged in anger. 'How dare this bitch treat me like this!' He gritted his teeth in anger.

He gathered strength in his arm to grab her, but before he could even extend his hand toward her, he heard something that made him even angrier, and he forgot about Chloe.

"Pftt!" Neo could not hold his laughter.

Carol was already on the edge because he was humiliated by the teacher to whom he could not do anything at the moment and got rejected by this girl in front of the whole class. He wanted a target to vent his anger on.

He sharply turned his head toward Neo.

Alden also had a slight smile on his face. But having been through years of bullying, he had experience in controlling his emotions. Thus, he instantly changed his facial expression into a serious one. And he expected Neo to do the same.

"Hahahah!" Neo bursted out laughing.

Alden's heart sank.

'It's over.' He thought.

"What's so funny!" Carol ran to Neo.

"What?" Neo asked, tears of laughter rolling down his face. "Are we not allowed to laugh?"

Carol had no reply to this, but with his prideful and arrogant character, he could not let this slide. Especially not when the one who laughed at him was a weak-looking boy, the perfect target to vent his anger on.

"I'll beat you up!" Carol shouted. He threw a fist at Neo, but to everyone's surprise, Neo caught the fist.

Neo did not engage in combat. He stood up and pushed Carol back.

Carol could not cope with this embarrassment. "I'll kill you!" He screamed.

Before Carol could jump at Neo, the bell rang, indicating the beginning of the class.

However, Neo still stood before Carol, ready to take him on at any moment.

"Neo, it's enough." Alden pulled the back of Neo's uniform. "The teacher will soon come. We could get in trouble."

"Alright," Neo sat back in his seat. He gave a sharp glance at Carol. "Scram before I beat you."

Though Carol came from a rich family, even he did not dare to engage in combat on the first day. And in the classroom at that.

"This is not over!" He threatened before heading back to his seat.

Swoosh!

Just as Carol sat on his seat, the wooden door slid open, and the teacher walked in.

The teacher was a man in his middle thirties and wore a black uniform. He had a thin build and was skinny. The clothes he wore were like hung on a pole.

He was not the most handsome man out there. His face was sunk, and he wore glasses. And he also had a messy black hair.

He walked over to the teacher's desk, carrying in his hands a large box.

He put the box on the teacher's desk.

"Alright." Though all the attention was on him, he still clapped his hands out of habit.

"Everyone, I am Simon. Simon Smith." Simon introduced himself. "You will learn my subject, Theoretical Knowledge only in your first year. I hope there will be no problems, so when you are second year or above, even if we pass by each other, we have the face to say at least hello to each other."

Just by the introduction, many students already liked Simon more than their homeroom teacher, Linda. Unlike the strict Linda, Simon gave off the vibe of an easygoing teacher.

"Today, I will explain about the cultivation and the beast taming in detail. Some of you might already know what I am about to tell you." Simon said, referring to those students coming from influential families. "But this is the basics, and we must get through this, so please bear with me." Simon smiled. "Before I start explaining, let's first introduce."

As Chloe sat on the desk in front of the teacher's desk, she was the first to introduce herself.

It did not take long for everyone to introduce themselves.

The introductions ended in about twenty minutes, again, the last one to introduce himself was Owen. However, this time, the teacher was kind enough and did not request Owen to say his surname.

"Alright, then. It's time to start your first lesson."
