Perfect Potion

"How are you doing, son?" His father asked, his voice revealing the exhaustion he was trying to hide. Yes, he still managed to put on a gentle smile. "How are things on your side? How are your roommates? Is someone bothering you?"

Alden shook his head. He knew his parents feared he would get bullied, just like in school. "Everything is fine."

"I'm glad to hear that." His father smiled.

"Father, please quit your job," Alden said.

His father frowned. "Alden, don't bring this up."

"Father, please. I will support you. I will send money. It's too dangerous to work. You're just an ordinary human.

You clean if beasts are attacking. You clear the beasts' corpses away. You bring supplies. You're doing so much manual labor. The beast tamers can do that themselves."

His father shook his head. "You need money more than us. Alden, grow stronger. I will support you as much as I can."
