chapter 17 Parties?!

Jasmine Everly's P O V

I was calm and comfortable creating the designs, even though it was a little frustrating to try some designs that I never did. It was good until... Sabastian came in, banging the door open.

I almost jumped out of my seat. My eyes raised up to the angry Sabastian, who was looking at me like I was the reason for whatever the hell he went through.

I stared at him for a few seconds before turning back to do my work, remembering my promise. I shouldn't get involved with him in anything other than my work and the contract.

"Ms. Everly, we have something to talk about," he said, before going back to his seat like I had done something.

What the hell does he want? I asked myself before getting up and walking to him in confusion.

"What do you want, Mr. Donovan?" I asked, looking at him in confusion.

"Sit down," he replied, showing me the seat as he picked up his phone and called someone.

"Mark, get me the contract," he asked, ending the call.

What the hell is going on? What contract is he talking about?! And why the hell did he ask me to get here?!

Or... wait, did he suddenly like my designs and is ready to sign the contract?! No, that's not possible; he is not someone who changes his mind in a day.

Even if he changes his decisions, he won't be calling me but Asher so what is this all about?

I sat there, waiting for that so called contract with him. That's when Mr. Mark walks in with a file in his hand and gives it to Sabastian.

He opened the files, took out a set of papers, and handed them over to me. I took that in confusion but started to read, asking, "What type of contract is this, Mr. Danovan?".

"Read it," he just replied dryly, and then he started to read the one on the file.

I gave him a nod and continued reading it.

It seems like a contract for the help and the time he is giving us, so he is going to take a certain amount of profit, I think.

I scuffed, knowing very well that he won't ever help someone for free and required the benifits.

My eyes started to widen with the other things I needed to do in the meantime, according to this contract.

Is he for real? What the hell does this even mean?

I slammed the contract on the table, looked dead in his eyes, and asked, "What the hell do you fucking mean by this?!".

"Exactly the things that are written down on the contract," he replied, like it didn't matter.

"Mr. Donovan! I am not your employee to do all this stuff!" I replied in irritation as I stared into his eyes.

"All I could say is one thing, sign this contract agreeing all these terms or you could take your things and leave and tell your boss that your work has been rejected." He replied and started to do something with his computer.

This fucker knows that I won't be leaving this, so he is taking advantage of it!

I clinched my hand in anger, controlling myself from hitting his face and destroying it, but I took a long breath, controlling all the anger, and said, "Mr. Danovan, I need to discuss this with my boss to sign the contract, so let me come to you after 2 days.".

"No, this contract should have been signed yesterday, but I was so busy that I didn't mention it, and today is already late. You could call him and inform him before signing, and if you reject this, you can go," he said with that irritating smile of his, and all I just wanted to do now was punch that face, but I controlled them.

"Yes, Mr. Danovan, I will get back to you." I gave him a forced smile, grabbing the contract and walking away from him.

I took my phone and called Asher, walking out of this room and to an open area at the end of the floor.

Asher picked up the call in a few rings and asked with his bright smile, "Jas, how is the first day in one of the biggest companies? Did you like it, Jas?! And you don't have to worry about your pending work, Latha has taken over and is doing a pretty good job. She has improved a lot, you know.... " Before he could go on and on about his side of things, I stopped him, saying, "Stop, stop for a second! I have something important to tell you!".

He got to know the seriousness and asked, "What happened?" worried and is still clam, ready to help me.

I felt a little relaxed and replied, "Mr. Danovan wanted me to sign a contract with him, he wants to add an extra 10% to the contract because of this help....".

"I expected he could ask that; we don't have a place to reject in this, Jes," he replied, and I agree with this but not the other things.

"This is between you two, and I don't care, but his other things piss me off! He wants to come from 8 am to 7 pm. Then he asked me to prepare his tea whenever he needed it because I was in the same office as him...? Like, what the hell? Then he wants to attend some of the evening bussing parties as HIS PARTNER! Then there are so many other rules, and I stopped with the last one! I think he is trying to take advantage of me because we need his help! How could he ask me, someone who is not even his employee, about all these things?! I am so pissed and wanted to ask you, Do we really need this contract, Asher?" I asked him finally. I know he needs this, but I am sure he won't like it as a friend, you know?

"What? Business parties?! That's a great opportunity for us, Jas, so do it."
