Soon, Atlas returned to his shed unable to take his eyes off the screen in front of him.
[Black crystal ring]
Atlas still didn't have the magic to be able to see the description of an artifact, but he could at least see the name thanks to the system.
But beyond the name of the ring, Atlas was still stunned that the viscount had suddenly given him something not only so expensive, but so valuable.
How many artifacts existed in the kingdom alone and how many were not national treasures?
Atlas decided to keep the secret of the new artifact in his possession. Anyone who knew he now had something so valuable would be willing to kill him to get it.
Even more so with so many nobles around. The ring could cost more money than some of them could see in a single year, Atlas was even sure that he was now richer than several of the nobles in the course.
It was somewhat depressing not to be able to wear the ring in public, but it was a privilege that only those powerful enough to be able to protect themselves and their belongings could have.
Atlas would have to become powerful enough to be able to wear his artifacts in public without fear that some greedy mage or noble would murder him from behind just to steal it.
When he finally returned to the shed, Faun was waiting for him outside. They both went inside and Atlas began to brew potions of Serene Blessing to give to the viscount when he needed them.
He wanted to get out of it as quickly as possible so he could focus on training. It was hard to level up or increase his stats during the course, but that didn't stop him from practicing his magic and starting to exercise his body.
If he wanted to become a combat mage as well as an attack mage, Atlas not only needed high stats, but also a body strong enough to withstand all his fights.
His strength stat increased his body's resistance, but this did not make him invulnerable or anything like that.
With that in mind, Atlas spent the rest of the day finishing his duties before going to bed early.
The next day, Faun accompanied him to the training camp. Atlas was the first to arrive right after the instructor who praised him for being early. The nobles didn't mind not being on time as there were usually no consequences, but Atlas was used to being punctual.
Finally, and after a full hour, Akrin Limboa, was the last to arrive. When everyone was assembled, the instructor clapped his hands and shouted: "Okay, let's see your results!"
The first to begin demonstrating that he had succeeded in learning the magic was indeed the other group. Meanwhile, Atlas turned to Danield and Benedetto who had tired expressions as well as dark circles under their eyes.
"So, did you make it?"
Danield gave him an annoyed look back and snorted: "Of course I made it, what do you take me for?"
Atlas ignored Danield's other words and focused on Benedetto.
"And you?"
Somewhat nervously, Benedetto nodded his head softly. Atlas then smiled slightly and looked at the other group without saying anything.
Sure enough, the other group each made a sphere of light without much trouble. Then finally it was their turn.
The instructor looked at them with interest, then Danield stepped forward.
"Just watch"
He raised his hand and created a magic circle, then somewhat slower than normal and with some difficulty, finally a sphere of light materialized in the air in front of the magic circle.
Danield deactivated it and gasped. Meanwhile, the other group did not forget to take Danield's performance as a target of ridicule.
"What kind of magic is that?"
"Are you sure it's not just a sick firefly?"
Both nobles laughed and Akrin joined them shortly after.
Danield bit his lips and stepped back in silence. However, even if they scoffed, Atlas was surprised by Danield.
Of Benedetto, he expected him to succeed, but Atlas actually expected Danield to fail. To be able to manage to get the spell to work in a single night after knowing Danield's problems was truly impressive.
'I guess he has some talent'
Then it was Benedetto's turn, who took the brush out of his case and began to draw the magic circle.
Just like yesterday, Atlas realized that he was still too slow to finish the spell, but anyway, the sphere of light materialized.
"I almost fell asleep..."
"It's not just his body that's slow"
Of course, the other group didn't hesitate to tease Benedetto, which made him lose his concentration and the sphere disappeared.
Benedetto stepped back clearly embarrassed as the other group mocked him. Then ignoring the comments, the instructor looked at Atlas.
"It's your turn"
Atlas nodded, then stepped forward and raised his hand leaving his staff aside. Then, without even blinking, a magic circle was created in a second and an instant later the sphere of light materialized.
Atlas gave practically no time for the other group to think of something to taunt him with. And even if they wanted to, Atlas had outdone them, so they would only be humiliating themselves.
Atlas planned to say something about how easy it was, but that would also affect Danield and Benedetto, so he simply looked with a superior expression at the other group, whose faces instantly tightened.
The instructor clapped his hands and said: "Very good, each of you made it. I expected no less"
For a while, the instructor gave another one of those boring talks about the advantages of mages over others and blah, blah, blah.
In all that time, the other group instead of paying attention to the instructor's words, they just stared at Atlas, but he gave little importance to it and simply yawned with no ulterior motives, but it turned out to hurt the nobles even more.
When the talk was over and the instructor gave them the next task, the other group left without making any further jokes towards Danield and Benedetto.
"Damn... How can he talk so much without getting tired?" complained Danield yawning big time.
Atlas shrugged and looked at them both.
"By the way... you're welcome"
Danield grimaced and turned away.
"Whatever. I'll go to sleep"
Then he took off in the direction of the dorms. On the other hand, Benedetto hesitated for a few moments, then murmured: "Thanks"
Atlas opened his eyes somewhat in surprise and watched as the chubby nobleman hurriedly ran off catching up to Danield.
Sighing, Atlas also turned around and walked towards the shed as Faun followed him from behind.
"Whatever... Ha"
