Say it, Lillian

No one had ever made such a bold demand of Lillian before. Lewis was the first man to propose marriage on the condition that she compel him to reveal his thoughts.

"That is a strange offer," Lillian replied, her eyes drifting to the array of pleasantries on the table. She gestured towards the refreshments. "Would you like to eat or drink something? This wine is quite rare. Mr. Blackwell should try it," she suggested.

Lillian lifted her own cup and took a few sips, savoring the taste. She noticed, however, that Lewis had not touched his wine cup.

"I thought Princess Lillian would accept the offer. She has a reputation for rejecting proposals once she knows the true intentions of the other party," Lewis remarked, leaning forward and gripping his cup tightly.

"I've decided not to proceed with it. You can inform Father that you're not interested in this marriage," Lillian asserted.
