Damon remembers staring down at his Mother, broken and bleeding black blood. He remembers Adrian swinging the dark weapon onto her, and then everything turned black. His body hurt and his ears were ringing. What just happened? He tries to move but the pain shoots up his wrist as he tries to sit up.

He looks around, trying to see where he is and he realizes that he is lying haphazardly on the ground, covered with dirt. He feels someone yanking him up roughly and then a double defence and attack spell circles appear before him. The booming explosions of spell attacks met his ears, though muted and he glanced to the side to see a bleeding Adrian next to him.
