Raon was unaware of the event that struck him due to the unconscious action of a tiny wisp of energy that entered his pendant.

The same pendant that had aided him with the elixir absorption and saved his life in the unknown ruins, which Raelyn and Arialyn also possessed.

The only difference was that his was duller than theirs, but Aria's was duller than Raelyn's, making it seem like whatever mysteries it contained were lessened in that last pendant.

Raon didn't have any time to think about his last action, though. All he could do at the moment was defend, as he was weaker than Lia, the core of the formation.

The formation in its entirety trembled while the time seemed to slow down and return to its current pace, undetectable by both of them.

Lia, confused by the events, tried to defend against the vines or branches that seemed woody and hard, which, for some reason, she could only deflect.
