Raon keenly observed the tree for any telltale signs of the golden-red, crisp apples he hoped to find on his return and pluck, if possible.

However, a frown etched on his face as he couldn't find any distinctive branch different from the rest, let alone the fruit he wished to harvest.

Even the scenery had changed since the last time he came here, the rivers of blood and demon beast carcasses vanished, leaving behind a barren land with sparse vegetation in their place.

Slowly, he took in the sight in front of him before a bad pronunciation struck him. He desperately hoped for it to not be the truth.

'There's just no way my luck is that bad... right?'

Raon wondered in self-blame, as he knew, if he had someone to blame, who else could it be other than him?

With nothing in sight, he planned to leave as discreetly as possible, to not attract any lingering demon beasts hot on his back.
