Chapter 39 : Vitality of Souls

Eleonore’s POV

I had never woken up more upset. Not even when I woke up to learn my first period had started in the middle of the night and I thought I was dying. Not when I was told Thomas was going to be shipped away overseas barely a few months after Mother died.

Waking up in a strange decrepit room right out of a medieval castle after being kidnapped by someone I was coming to detest brought me to a whole new level of upset that it completely blocked out the fear.

But only for a moment. And for that moment I lay there, shocked and confused and wholly unsure of just what I was supposed to do.

I had just been kidnapped by my nightmare incarnate, no one knew I was kidnapped, and now something nefarious was going to happen without my position in an indiscernible amount of time.

Suffice it to say I was in a mental limbo where things were not well. Just laying on the, frankly ugly, bed though wasn’t going to help me, so I blinked hard to keep the tears at bay and sat up.
