Still tides of the water

Devon's pov

"Come on, Dona, stop bugging me. You know I've got shit to do!" I said, resisting the urge to sigh while my gaze remained fixated on Dona, who lay horizontal on my office chair, a rather casual air to her demeanor as she swung her feet alternatively. She threw her head backwards, letting out an exasperated sigh.

"But I'm so bored! There's nothing to do here."

"There's wifi; go stream a show or something." I replied, shuffling through the paperwork on my desk as I pretended to be busy. It's not like I didn't enjoy my sister's company; I actually do. Sometimes I'd just rather be alone, and this just happens to be one of those times.

I've been keeping to myself since Rachel rejected my marriage proposal. That's if that even qualifies as a proposal; honestly, I don't even blame her for rejecting me. She must think I'm some sort of clingy psycho or something. I mean, who proposes marriage to someone they met barely a few weeks ago?
