My mouth fell agape, my face frozen in disbelief as I stared unblinkingly at the documents in my hands, still struggling to believe the truth that was staring back at me. A little part of me still hoped that it wasn't true and that I could just wake up and realize that this had all been a dream. However, despite how much I wanted it to be true, I knew it was all wishful thinking. This wasn't a dream; this was reality.
All this time, he made me believe that he was trying to help me find out who my dad's killers were. After all these months of consoling me and helping me find access to files that I could use to find out who my dad's killers were, after all those months of pretense, he was the one who killed my dad. He made me get my guard down, just to divert suspicion away from him. He was a monster.
