Blast from the past

RYAN'S POV

I rushed downstairs, a mix of fear and horror racing through my mind as my heart pounded in my chest. I rushed towards mom.

"Mum, what's going on?"

Mom ran towards me, wrapping her arms around me as she hugged me tightly. She was just as scared as I was, if not more, her heart pounding loudly in her chest. She hugged me tighter as the chaotic noise outside grew louder—a loud thud as they sent our gate crashing down.

"Don't worry, Ryan; Dad just headed downstairs. He is going to take care of this. He's talking to them as we speak."

I managed to pull out of mom's grip, sneaking towards the window and peeking at what was going on outside. There were at least four men out there: two elderly men with gray hair who hid their identities with full-face masks, while the other two were hefty bodybuilders; from the looks of it, they didn't belong to the Sapphire Ring Pack.
