"What?" Mother asked with dread-filled face.

"Yes Dalton, what are you doing?" Scar asked rising to her feet. She had been smiling all this while when father slapped me and now the table turned she wanted to speak up.

"I believe you heard me clearly," Dalton said.

"I will not let you disrespect my family. My wife will never kneel to this girl." Father said with a deep frown to earn a punch from Dalton.

"Ahh..." Mother and Scar screamed and rushed to where father lay. Even I was shocked at his action.

"What is your problem." Scarlett pushed him and he took a few steps back but quickly regained his composure. Dalton arranged his suit and didn't even spare her a glance.

"I don't want to repeat myself, I know you don't want me to hurt your husband." He said to mother.

Even if Dalton was defending me right now, I still couldn't forget the threat he made last night. He's only doing this to entice me into signing those papers.
