A Date On The Maldives

Elma's POV:

Anthony stared at me in disbelief. "The same type of people?"

"Yes, you got me right."

"I didn't abandon my family to go on adventures; I didn't find a replacement, and I didn't lie about taking poison just to gain sympathy."

He scolded, and I scoffed, "You are right, but I didn't impregnate an innocent sixteen-year-old girl."

"I am the beginning of your misery," he said, and I nodded.

"Yes, Anthony Wistold, sometimes I wonder how my life would have been if I hadn't met you."

"It would have been perfect; you would have graduated from college, probably won the Miss Universe award, and gotten married to a man as capable as Jacob."

Why was he talking about?

"It's the hate I have for you that made me who I am today, so when everyone finds fault in me, I expect you to remember the days I was good to you." I picked up my suitcase and walked upstairs; maybe it was a mistake coming here.
