Her legs feel like giving up on her. What just happened? She couldn't make sense of it.
Javier looked at Yvonne and shook her shoulders gently. "Hey," he called out.
Yvonne finally managed to get herself together and look at Javier. "What was the meaning of that?" she demanded, her voice trembling with a mixture of shock and anger.
"What?" he replied. "I was planning on getting rid of him in Beijing, but he escaped, so I decided to do it here."
"I don't care what you decide to do, but why did you let me hold that gun?" Yvonne's voice quivered.
"If you are going to work for me, holding a gun and using it shouldn't scare you," he said. "Once you've done it once or twice, it becomes easier."
Yvonne bites her lips and just does not know what to say to him. How can he do this? How will she sleep at night?
