Threat

Chapter Twenty-One - Threat

Laurel stared at him, her senses alert. Was he about to kill her? Finally fed up with her living?

He looked like a mad dog and his long curved claws had marks on the prison door.

"What's with him?" she asked quietly.

His eyes snapped to her at that instant and she looked away. "What the hell were you doing?"

What did it look like to him? "Pushups. My monitor said I should do a hundred. Very tormenting." she said in a sarcastic tone even if she meant it.

It was quite surprising when his eyes seemed to have softened by what she said. "What? I'm being brutally tormented. Isn't that what you want?" She asked, still on the ground.

He looked away. She didn't even have a clue.

Finding a male wolf on his mate's body had caused a regrettable unexpected reaction in him. He'd have to forge an excuse to give Sigma later, the kid was dumb so it wouldn't be hard.

But if he tells Sorren before that, that'd be troublesome. No matter what, Stefan's goal was letting go of his mixed feelings towards his mate and viewing her as an enemy.

Then, he'd get married to Jade and run their pack under the Lycan Packs flag. A beautiful future.

This pathetic wolfess, who unfortunately became his mate, had no place in that beautiful future.

"Of course, it's what I want." He replied, retracting his claws. "Except pushups are hardly torment."

What did he know? Laurel forced her body up. "Just leave me alone. You handed me over to Sorren and then he handed me over to Sigma. I'm just a tool. Why should you care what happens to me?"

"You know why." He approached her.

Laurel took a step back, hiding her hand behind her as her claws slowly grew out of her nails. "I know why? Sorry, I don't. All I know is you want me to suffer…"

"Then why am I the one suffering?"

It was a quick movement, Laurel found her outgrown claws pointed really close to her eyes. He realized she wanted to strike?

How? Was his sense of hearing that sharp? And how fast was he that he grabbed her arm to her face before she could even feel the movement?

Her eyes shook in their sockets. If he made her blind now, that'd be really tormenting, all her plans would be done. She rather die.

"You are suffering?" She asked, hoping it'd take his mind from his plans. But why would he suffer? From what exactly? It was surely not because of her.

Kai was the only reason he hadn't done it. Stefan wrestled with his wolf for conscious as Kai fought to take his hand down.

His wolf was still very much attached to his mate. If those her beautiful green eyes were gone, then that'd be her most beautiful possession gone.

She didn't look soft and curvy like other princesses, or ladies infact. They'd be nothing attractive to hold him down because at the point, only attraction remained, he couldn't love her, he must not love her.

"If only I could rip you from me now." he seethed at his wolf as his hand slowly left Laurel's.

He pushed Laurel back as he turned away. The force threw her to her bed and luckily, her head landed on the bed and not it's edge.

Her heart was thumping loudly in her chest. It felt like she almost escaped death.

The closeness between she and her mate made her a bit excited but it was shrouded by fear and terror. What kind of wolf would make his mate feel that way!

"You know, I always used to think my father was the worst person I've ever met." Laurel groaned as she tried to stand.

Her body was aching all over due to the pushups and the force he used on her.

Stefan held unto the handle of the prison door tightly but he waited to listen. What was she yapping about now?

"But now, I know." Laurel stood, leaning on the wall. "He might have been a terrible father but it was because he missed his mate who I looked a lot like."

Her father's mate? Her mother? Stefan scoffed. "Are you trying to sob about how you were motherless too?"

"Far from that!" Laurel snapped. "I actually hate my mother! Or at least, I used to! I always saw her as a bitch that died and left her daughter in the hands of a miserable man to raise her!"

Those words made Stefan drop the idea of leaving. What really was this bitch yapping about? She hated her own mother? He knew her father was a bad father but that wasn't his problem.

"But if my father was driven by sorrow all these years, because my mother, his mate, was killed by your kind, a Lycan, maybe even your father! Then!" Laurel pointed her claws at Stefan.

His eyes widened and his knuckles clenched. How could she! How dare she! So that's what she was yapping about?

Her mother was killed by a Lycan? "You expect me to believe that?" he asked in a dangerously low tone.

"Oh, then should I also believe that it was my father who raided your pack? You could as well just have raided us because it's fun for you Lycans to be bloodthirsty." Laurel scoffed.

Did she just… "You are a crazy bastard, you know!"

"And you're one shameless fool!" She barked. "My father was wrong to kill a whole pack but cross that, you killed three! His mate was killed so he killed your father's mate!"

"Why does it seem like you're defending it?! Huh?! Why!" he hurried towards her, flexing his claws but Kai made him halt.

"Call me heartless, but I'm here suffering again and again over something I have no idea about and my mate who should protect me from all of it, is the bastard hurting me!" Laurel shouted.

Her hands ran through her hair and she squeezed it, pulling some out. "It's either the moon goddess hates me so much she mated me to you or I'm the one to curse your life! Because unlike me, who have nothing, you have a brother, fiancée, and a pack."

She wanted to stop herself from speaking. She'd gain nothing from venting like this but she was beyond frustrated.

Taking the insults thrown at a royalty like her like she was a omega slave was destroying her sanity and dignity alike.

"Is that a threat? Did you just…?"

She quickly interrupted him. "I've told you, you better kill me or I'd bring hell to your life. You'd lose everything like I did."

The hair on Stefan's skin stood. She still dared add more threats at him while being in the pathetic state he kept her?

In a flash, his fingers wrapped around her neck. He should really kill her, because he knew, she meant every word.
