Raven was going through the file on his phone, but his attention was also on the girl. He noticed when she looked at his face for permission to talk, and he liked it. The girl was really learning fast. Then she gripped his hand tightly.

Raven moved his eyes from his phone, looking around the party room to check if anyone stepped inside who had something that would scare the girl, then Lily took a step back.

Lily felt her breathing hitch, sweat forming at the side of her face. She had heard people talk about their trauma and post-traumatic experiences, but she never knew it would be something she would witness firsthand for herself.

She tried to control her breathing, but her chest kept moving up and down as her heart was beating fast.
