Lily blinked; she was very sure the girl holding her neck, trying to knock her breath out, was Maya. It was just a few weeks ago they met, but she would never forget her savior's face, even her attitude was still intact.

Except she changed so much because of her makeup and healthy skin, which was different when they were in the underground. Was that the reason Maya failed to recognize her? Lily asked herself.

Lily raised her hand to her neck, trying to loosen it up a bit so she could talk.

Maya dipped her hand into her pocket, retrieving a rope to tie her prize. Her eyes had no life in them. "It'll be to your advantage if you save your strength by not talking," she said.
