In that very instance, as my lips almost met with Gerald's, Jennifer interrupted us, ruining our beautiful moment together. We separated from each other, pretending as though nothing was going on. My heart raced as Jennifer's gaze met with mine, and she wore a suspicious look.
Gerald quickly composed himself and left hastily. As he banged the door, Jennifer's gaze moved from the door to me. For a while, we never talked to each other, but Jennifer's suspicious stare never moved an inch from my face. A stare that left me blushing and smiling sheepishly.
"Hmm… hmmm," Jennifer cleared her throat, her smile mischievous and her gaze still fixed on me. I knew what she wanted, her look said it all–an explanation of what just went on between me and Gerald.
"It's… it's not what you think, Jennifer," I said, trying to defend myself.
Of course, she would not believe that she caught me almost kissing Gerald. Her eyes twinkled, betraying her amusement.
