Dread in the night

Chapter 90

Dread in the night

Amelia's POV

I jerked in shock as I felt a chilled liquid wet my fabric. My eyes fluttered open– wide open as I glanced at the figures before me.

I lay there on the bare ground, surrounded by other warriors. My eyes met with Gerald, his mood unreadable, his eyes glaring at me. I inhaled and exhaled rapidly.

Since the water splash landed on my face, I had taken in and out air something not less than a hundredth time– quite a lot.

Gerald had called for help the moment I seized my breath. I had taken some herbs from Valerie which hid my scent and made it impossible for him to recognize me through my scent.

Luckily for him, the spot wasn't too far from our training camp. Other werewolves had rushed to the spot instantly to give a helping hand.

All their attempts to snatch me from the other world proved abortive. At a point,  they became alarmed and resolved to call Ethan, the herbalist.
