"Let Valerie go. She's innocent!" Ethan said as he walked towards the room. His step was swift and his gaze fixed on me.

"I have the evidence you need, Alpha."

I stared steadily at him, with doubts and confusion written all over my face.

"If it wasn't Valrie, then who?" I asked, my face wrinkled in confusion. I observed Valerie who had been beaten mercilessly. The cane had torn through her skin, creating a path for blood to stream out from.

The guards' whips were held up, firmly gripped in their hands, and ready to give her more strokes at my command.

"My Alpha, I– I don't think this is necessary. Maybe that witch had bribed him. I know Valerie, and she's capable of anything!" Lina declared, I observed her; her uneasiness, her agitated state, and her shaky voice spoke volumes. Her chest rose fast.
