Chapter 46

The Count's blood dissolved in Damien's saliva. His body was instantly transformed. A piercing pain coursed through every fiber of his being. It was burning, aching.

It spread from his throat to his extremities. Then it intensified, reaching such a point of agony that Damien screamed.

His back arched forward and his fingers contracted, the nails digging into his palms.

He fell to his knees and writhed on the floor, tearing at his skin with his fingernails. His lungs filled with air and his nostrils flared.

Remnant Voices in his ears resurfaced, and after a few seconds they intensified. Damien closed his eyes, fighting to control his instincts, fighting to keep the rage boiling inside of him from letting him lose control.

'I must bear it.'

He knew all too well. The consequences of consuming the Blood Essence would be catastrophic if he was not a Noble Vampire.
