Chapter Forty

Angry and frustrated, I couldn't shake off the encounter with Tyrone's sister. The audacity of her to come here and offer a merger. It was as if she had treated me so kindly in the past, when we parted on bad terms. I never imagined they would still be checking on me, knowing that Tyrone and I ended things poorly.

"Hey, your heart, it might burst with too much anger," Rye said with a mischievous smile. I shot him a look. Although Rye enjoys teasing me, deep down, I know he understands why I reacted that way. Sometimes I wonder if he wants Tyrone and me to get back together or if he's just testing to see if I've moved on.

After the brief meeting, we went back to work. I didn't bother to ask my secretary if Tyrone's sister had left yet. Just thinking about it made my blood boil. Besides, everyone was busy finalizing our upcoming new collection.
