Chapter Forty-Nine

My heart raced with anxiety. His swift driving had me clutching onto my seat tightly.

"Slow down! Slow down!! I don't want to die yet!" I yelled at him, my voice shaking with fear. He eased off the gas slightly, and I let out a sigh of relief. What on earth had just happened? What did he want to accomplish? I looked at him, but his expression remained tense. His eyebrows furrowed, his grip on the steering wheel was tight, and his jaw clenched. Yet, his eyes betrayed a sense of hurt.

"Tyrone, please take me back. I have things to attend to," I calmly asked, though I wanted to scream at him. I was losing my patience quickly. He laughed bitterly and shook his head. He looked like he was on the verge of losing his mind.

"The answer is NO, Diane. I won't return you until you love me again!" he declared.

"What!? You know this is kidnapping. I can file a case against you!" I exclaimed, trying to show him I wasn't afraid.

"You won't," he said, his tone dead serious.
