Chapter Fifty-Six

I let out a yawn as I woke up from a nap. Is this what being pregnant feels like? Overwhelming fatigue?

"Hey, Diane. Wake up. You've been sleeping too much. Come on, it's not good for the baby," Rye chided, interrupting my drowsiness. Oh right, Rye was here. He and his fiancé had moved in just a day ago.

"Alright, is there food yet?" I asked him, my stomach rumbling in agreement. Rye rolled his eyes in response.

"Yes, madam. We've been waiting for you to grace us with your presence at the dining table," Rye replied sarcastically. I hurriedly washed my face and brushed my teeth. I could take a proper shower later; right now, hunger was my priority. Rye chuckled at my eagerness.

"By the way, aren't you going to join us?" I inquired, glancing at Rye who was already dressed in a three-piece suit. He was meticulously arranging his hair. "Wait, your fiancé is here to join us, right?

"Oh, he's on his way. He's got a wedding to attend," Rye said excitedly.
