Burden of a human being

Author's note: Saintess' point of view

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Did they really do that?"
"That's right, they beat up knight Lucas because he attacked one of that guy's friends, also that guy noticed my presence while I was watching him"
"What? he can even notice your presence? " The Saintess slightly raised her voice, but she regained her composure after a while
"Right, I'm sorry miss saintess, I seem to underestimate that person."
The Saintess sighed and looked at the person kneeling beside her. " no, it's okay. You can go now, keep watching their activities, but this time you better be careful, Nina "
"Thank you, miss"
With that, Nina disappeared along with the gust of wind that passed me by.
"Hah... Ah!, I forgot "that" person was waiting for me, I have to meet him immediately "
The Saintess walked down the dark hallway while holding a candle in her hand, the moonlight hit her face as if welcoming her arrival, the night breeze made the Saintess miss the comfort of being at home with her mother. For a while, the saintess was lost in her own thoughts because many things happened that were beyond her expectations.
This went better than I thought, I deliberately put Lucas as their teacher, I knew Lucas would definitely beat them up because it seemed like he hated people from other worlds. I had predicted that there would be people fighting Lucas, but I didn't expect that they could beat Lucas.
Everyone took turns beating Lucas but there were only 4 people who dared to fight directly with him. The trigger was because Lucas grabbed the collar of a woman named Ren Akane, she was predicted to be a middle or even high level magician depending on her traits. Maybe his friends couldn't stand what Lucas did to her.
The first person to stop Lucas was a young man named Ethan Starshield, he was the first person to stop Lucas' actions.
The second person who fought against Lucas was a girl named Anna, she was the one who dared to fight directly with Lucas and the person who helped him was Aaron, a young man who had white hair and red eyes. According to the servants, he never spoke to anyone, even when he gathered with his friends he didn't speak at all and only listened.
Raden Fatah, despite his age of only 12 years, he was the person who convinced the people in the field to gang up on Lucas, and the last one was Nicholas Dendi.
He was the one who fought evenly against Lucas, even Lucas seemed to be battered by him, Nina saw with her own eyes that this man could control his mana freely.
Saintess smiled and said. "huhuhu, this is getting more and more interesting, I can't wait for how strong he will be in the future."
His level of development is beyond reason, I don't know what kind of world he comes from but it seems I shouldn't underestimate him.
I arrived at the living room where he was waiting, I stood in front of the door and prepared to go in, I was a little nervous to meet him because it looked like he was going to scold me.
I opened the door and saw someone sitting on the sofa with his eyes closed. There were no candles or lamps to illuminate the room, only moonlight was the light in the room.
"You're late Verdia." The person spoke in a low tone which made saintess even more nervous
"Hehehe, can you forgive me this time? I've been very busy lately." Saintess smiled while tilting her head
That person sighed then looked into the saintess's eyes. The Saintess responded to his gaze with a warm smile.
"Why are you just standing at the entrance? sit down, there is something I want to talk to you about."
With that, the saintess walked towards the sofa following the person's words, they stared at each other for a while, then the saintess spoke. "So, what do you want to talk about? Don't tell me you're just going to stare at me all night?"
The person still remained silent and just stared at the saintess, the saintess started to get nervous and turned her head away. The person finally spoke. "Why are you doing this?"
Saintess just looked down silently and did not answer the question asked by that person.
That person looked at the saintess and said. "Answer my question Verdia Grace, or will you only answer my question if I call you saintess?"
Saintess was shocked to hear that person's words, she reflexively looked at that person's face. " What? No! That's not it, I just want to lighten your burden a little by bringing some people from another world."
"But do you think they are happy about this? each of them has their own family."
"Their families won't look for them." The Saintess suddenly spoke firmly
The person's eyes widened. "What? what are you talking about?"
"I only bring those who have died and those with strong souls to cross the dimensional boundary."
The person fell silent hearing the saintess' words, the saintess looked at the person's face. That person had a shocked expression, the saintess only smiled gently seeing that person's expression. That person looked at the saintess and said. "What price did you pay to be able to do that?"
"Price? what are you talking about? Why are you suddenly talking about-"
"Verdia."
Saintess fell silent
"It's okay, tell me."
The saintess's previously tense shoulders now relaxed as if all the problems she had throughout her life had disappeared. She looked at the person with a smile and said
"thirty years of my remaining life."
The saintess' withered face with her warm smile made the person freeze. The person sighed and leaned back on the sofa, the saintess also leaned back on the sofa and closed her eyes.
"...okay then, I'll help you."
The saintess' eyes widened and then her face became brighter when she heard that person's words. " Really? I'm very grateful to know you will help me."
"But I will only choose a few people who have potential, do you mind?"
"No, that's enough"
"Then, that's the end of our conversation for today, give me all the data from those people, I'll let you know when I have free time."
"Aren't you going to rest here first? Don't force yourself too much."
With that, the person walked out the door, before he left he looked at the saintess and said.
"If I didn't force myself, then this world would have been destroyed ten years ago."
"huhuhu, I agree with you but at least, you should rest so you don't die from exhaustion."
"That also applies to you."
Saintess laughed lightly then looked at the person's back which looked sturdy but exhausted.
"Indeed, you're a stubborn person."
