Chapter Four: The Hunter's Trap
Detention seemed to stretch on forever as Sam, Michael, and Jed sat side by side, their heads hung low in shame. Mrs. Anderson, their strict math teacher, paced back and forth, her disapproving gaze fixed on them. They had hoped for a chance to escape punishment, but their argument in the school hallway had caught the attention of not only their classmates but also the faculty.
As the minutes ticked by, the tension between the three friends grew heavier. Michael couldn't shake the nagging feeling that something was amiss. He couldn't forget his mother's mysterious death and the dark secrets surrounding his family. His intense desire to find the truth fueled his determination to uncover the identity of her killer.
Finally, the detention bell rang, and the trio shuffled out of the classroom, their shoulders slumped. Sam, always the optimist, patted Michael's back, trying to offer support. "Don't worry, man. We'll get through this together," he whispered.
Their conversation was cut short when a school announcement boomed over the loudspeakers. "Attention students: Please report to the school auditorium for an emergency assembly."
Curiosity piqued, Michael, Sam, and Jed hurried to join their schools' population. As they took their seats, the principal addressed the worried crowd. "Recently, there have been reports of vicious attacks occurring in the neighboring woods. The rumors claim that these attacks are the doing of supernatural creatures."
Whispers swept through the auditorium, and Michael exchanged a knowing glance with Sam. This seemed to confirm their suspicions about the truth behind the werewolf symbol and his mother's murder.
Just as the principal finished his speech, a tall figure stepped onto the stage. Mr. Price, a renowned werewolf hunter, loomed over the crowd, his gaze sharp and calculating. He held up a small device, flashing lights indicating its purpose. "I have here a state-of-the-art werewolf tracker," he declared. "With this, we'll put an end to these attacks!"

Elena, her wolfish golden eyes gleaming in the moonlight, nodded in agreement. "We must fight back. But we'll need reinforcements. We can't do this alone."
As if on cue, something shifted in the air, and Michael felt a tingling sensation crawl up his spine. John turned his head slightly, locking eyes with Michael. It was as if he could sense Michael's presence, feel the restless spirit within him.
"Michael," John called out, his voice carrying the weight of responsibility. "Will you join us? Will you fight for your mother's legacy?"
Michael's heart raced, torn between the power of his emotions and the unknown dangers that awaited him. But deep down, he couldn't turn his back on the opportunity to avenge his mother's death and uncover the truth about her killer.

John's face broke into a rare smile, filled with gratitude and hope. "Welcome to the pack, Michael."
