Chapter 2: The Top 2 Face Off! Haru Vs Ashina! The Match Comes To An End!

Ashina and Ren look to each other.

Ren: We're gonna win this.

Ren- Pass the ball to me. I can finally shine. No more chasing Kousuke's Shadow.

Sudou: How many ties do I have to tell you to pass to me?

Ashina: I... I won't go along with... I won't go along with you anymore.

Sudou: Why you.

Ren steps in between them.

Ren: Let's do this together partner.

Ashina: Yeah.

Sudou: Do what you want then. But I expect a pass from you for my goal.

Sudou- Damn these guys. Because of their bullshit I can't score as many goals.

Two Winger Team A Midfielders start with the ball as they race forward with the ball with Haruto racing down the field off to the side.

Haruto- It's very obvious that Ashina is able to manipulate a ball's trajectory somehow. Is it telekinesis?

Suddenly Ashina's speed increases to a point that it's unbelievable as he attempts to steal the ball but Haruto appears sporting a Dark Blue Aura blocking Ashina's path.

Haruto- No. Speed like that. He's definitely not capable of that just normally. Though his speed was originally a bit lacking before. And why can't I see his Aura? It's impossible to tell whether he's going to use his Augmentation or not.

Haruto receives a pass from his teammate as he rushes up the field passing to a teammate as he secures a perfect position to shoot but Ashina catches up to him pressuring him as Haruto pushes him back trying regain control of the situation as Ashina tries to touch the ball.

Haruto- Does he really think that'll work?

Haruto kicks the ball just as Ashina just barely makes contact as the ball flies completely off course towards the right instead of straight into the goal leading to a goal kick.

Haruto- What the? That much contact shouldn't have been enough to cause my shot to fly off course so badly!

Ren: Nice Ashina!

Ashina: Watch out for him. You hear me.

Ren: Yeah.

The Goalkeeper kicks the ball to Ashina who rushes forward with it again showing off his impressive dribbling skills until he comes face to face with Haruto. Ashina with his right foot rolls the the ball over his left foot causing the ball float in the air for a second as he then uses the top of his foot to pull the ball towards the right rolling his foot over as he goes it until his foot is on top of the ball while it's still midair as he uses the sole of his foot to force it backwards hoping to redirect himself. Haruto disappears and Ashina looks backwards to see Haruto is behind him. Ren runs down the Right side unmarked while Sudou runs down the left side marked.

Haruto: Your skills are impressive.

Haruto smirks.

Haruto- Am I enjoying this? No, it's just a small moment. It doesn't mean anything.

Haruto- I have always despised Football. I never understood the point of kicking a ball into a goal. However it was the only thing I had any talent. My father insisted that I play the games. Sometimes he would drag me out of the house to force me to attend my matches and training.

Haruto is on the field as he weaves through his opponents with ease and scores a goal without any joy on his face at all.

Haruto- My father said that I had a 1 in a million talent and that I should be grateful and go pro. I went along with it just because I had nothing else to do. My grades were below average and I had no talent in anything in particular. 

Haruto's Classmate 1: Come on! Join us! We're missing someone for equal teams.

Haruto: Alright then.

Haruto gets up and joins them.

Haruto- Alright.

Haruto is able to easily score goal after goal as the other kids get annoyed at him.

Haruto's Classmate 2 (irritated): I've been playing for 3 years and you just tried it for the first time how are you so good?

Haruto's Classmate 3: Go away. It's no fun playing with you.

Haruto- That was the day I realized that being to good at something could be just as bad as being too bad at something. It should've felt good to be good at something for once. But it was the opposite. Whenever I had saw even minor improvements in something I struggled with it filled me with joy but coasting through something so easily left me with such an empty feeling. It felt as if the match had no purpose. As if I had no reason to be there.

Haruto moves a a bench and sits down.

Haruto has returned home to hear his parents speaking in the main living room.

Haruto's Father: He got a D on his latest Math exam.

Haruto's Mother: Teruhiko, what are we going to do with that child.

Teruhiko: He hasn't shown any talent in anything. Saki, I've tried so hard to find something but no matter what we try he always fails.

Saki: I'm worried about his future. How will he earn a steady income and take care of himself?

Teruhiko: If worst comes to worst he can live with us and we'll have to find him a wife that's competent enough and also willing to take him.

Saki: Women don't prefer men like him you know. They like capable guys. Even if it was just one thing. If he was good at it I'm sure someone would be interested in him.

Teruhiko: He could be home any minute. Let's talk about this later.

Haruto opens the front door loudly and closes it the same as he walks over to the main living room.

Saki: welcome home.

Teruhiko: How was school?

Haruto: Mom, Dad. I'm going to join the Football team.

Haruto- I'm tired of living and extraordinary but joyless life. But I'm even more tired of living a less than mediocre. Football my one redeeming quality.

Ashina- So this guy has Transmission Augmentation. He can teleport.

Ashina bonces the ball on the ground using the top of his foot and then uses his ankle to the chip the ball as it heads towards Sudou.

Haruto- Damn it!

Sudou- Yeah give it here!

Suddenly the ball curves as it lands in front of Ren.

Ichiro and Haruto- What the...?

Sudou- What are you doing Ashina?

Ashina (sweating)- Go Ren!

Ren- It's mine!

Ren boots the ball straight into the goal as the whistle blows, the crowd cheers and Ren celebrates as the score changes to Midfielder Team A (2) : Winger Team A (1).

Haruto- How interesting. So I was wrong about him.

Announcer: It's unbelievable. What a truly unbelievable pass from Oriyamaru Ashina and an amazing goal from Suzuki Ren at the 11 minutes and 27 seconds mark!

Sudou runs up to Ashina and grabs him by the collar.

Sudou: What the hell Ashina?

Ashina- What is this. That goal, I left it to him and he scored. My pass made that happen. I made the decision for that. I feel so free right now.

Sudou: Why didn't you pass to me you jerk!?

Ashina: You... you weren't open... Ren was... that's why.

Sudou: That doesn't matter! Always pass to me!

Ren grabs Sudou's wrist forcing him to let go.

Ren: That's enough! Anymore and you'll get red carded and we'll be down a player. Get your damn head in the game. We're 1 goal from wining but that doesn't mean we're out of the woods yet.

Sudou swing his arms forcing Ren to let go.

Sudou: I'm sick and tired of this shit Ashina. Remember what happens when you go against me.

Ashina grits his teeth a bit.

Ren: I hope you don't mean what I think you do. Just play the damn game. And I don't wanna see any funny business on or off field coming from you Sudou.

Sudou: You ain't the boss of me!

Ren walks up to him.

Ren: Try me and see what happens. I you get booted at least we get rid of a liability.

Sudou walks away frustrated.

Sudou: The next one is mine. You hear me Ashina? Pass to Me!

Haruto walks up to Ashina.

Haruto: You're quite the confused person aren't you? You're still conflicted as to whether you should be free or a slave. It's honestly really pathetic but if you can't make the decision yourself then I'll make it for you. Be a slave but not for trash like him. When our offers come inn after the Second Test is over I want you to join me. Do it be the one that you can start to realize what it means to reach the peak of Football. 

Haruto- Perhaps this game won't be as boring as I thought it might be.

Ashina is shocked at this.

Ashina- Offers? He's already predicted that we'll receive offers?

Sudou: Who the hell are you calling trash loser?

Haruto: It seems you don't have good hearing either.

Sudou: Huh? What was that?

Haruto: I'm done talking to this trash. Ichiro. I'm done with this. Formation B.

Ichiro: Of course.

Sudou: Huh? Says the dumbass that's loosing 2-1.

Sudou grabs Haruto on the shoulder as Ren rushes in to try and break them apart but before he can Haruto grabs Sudou's hand and throws it off and continues to walk away.

Sudou: Why you little...

Ren grabs Sudou by the wrist stopping him.

Ren: That's enough.

Haruto stands at the Kick-Off line with a partner as the whistle blows and his partner passes the ball to him and he Augments his Aura and teleports with the ball to right outside the penalty box as he shoot and scores leaving the goalkeeper speechless and with no time to react as the crowd is dumbstruck and the score changes to Midfielder Team A (2) : Winger Team A (2).

Announcer: Holy crap... I mean Goal! Tasogare Haruto scores the equalizer at the 12 minutes and 57 seconds mark! 

Sudou can't believe what his eyes are seeing.

Ren- How in the world?

Ashina- This guy is an absolute monster!

Ren- If he even touches the ball again it's over.

Everyone returns to their starting positions as Winger Team A are all sweating profusely in fear and anxiety. The whistle blows and Ren passes the ball to Ashina only for Haruto to appear sporting a Dark Blue Aura as he continues teleporting 2 times until he steals the ball teleports again and scores the final goal as the whistle blows

Announcer: Goal! Tasogare Haruto scores the final goal at the 13 minutes and 10 seconds mark!

The game ended ended with a score of Midfielder Team A (2) [Sudou, Ren] : Winger Team A (3) [Haruto, Haruto, Haruto].

Sudou (In despair)- We lost.

Ren (in shock)- We didn't even stand a chance from the beginning.

Ashina- Tasogare Haruto. He's amazing. He's someone who could become the first ever to be the best in the world!

Ren: I won't accept it. Being able to teleport like that! There's no way we could have won! It's bullshit!

Ren- This is stupid. Why are you here Kousuke?

Referee: Due to Tasogare Haruto's blatantly overwhelming upset. The rules of the game will be discussed but the Board. Everyone will be informed of any changes at a later date.
