53 — Never Come Back

"You?!" Zahra asked, perplexed and unable to distinguish between if it were a dream or reality.

The dark creature had turned smaller than its previous form, making Zahra wonder whether she was talking to the same.

The monster nodded briefly before opening its mouth to speak.

"I have been looking for you. Once I came back, you were no longer in that place."

"Wait, wait, what?" Zahra moved a little closer despite her heart racing.

She didn't trust that monster yet it seemed strangely familiar to her.

"I went to get help but… I realized I couldn't communicate with human beings apart from you," the monster said.

Its expressions didn't change— it seemed immobile.

"It's okay. But how did you find me?"

"I could sense your energy so I used it to find you."

"And how did you get in the palace? And even find my room?" Zahra asked in disbelief.
