Singing Mournfully

He bounces on the bed in a childlike manner, where the sounds of the mattress make a creaking noise.

Dawn shakes her head, which causes her hair to scatter across her back before going into the bathroom and turning the switch light on.

The lights in the bathroom were bright enough, that she could see everything, which caused her eyes to squint for a moment.

She found what she was looking for.

A blanket.

She grabs the blankets as she walks out of the bathroom, where she sees Iravan continue to bounce on the bed.

He was making so much racket of a noise, that the squeaking noise was starting to irritate her.

She yells out, "Hey, cut it out."

His head tilts in the light, where the lights can be seen behind him, and the squeaking noise comes to a cease.

She saw him in the same clothes he had been wearing for the past few days, then she decided to get him new clothes that would suit him in the morning.

She asks, "Aren't you tired?"

He shakes his head, which causes his hair to scatter across his forehead and his back, before getting up from the bed and looking at the corner of the room.

He started walking toward the corner before his knees bent on the cold, hard wooden floor, sitting criss-cross applesauce.

She furrows her brows at the sight, "What are you doing?"

He tilts his head again, "Sleeping."

She shakes her head with an exhaled sigh, "No, you're not going to sleep on the floor. You'll be sleeping on the bed with me."

She raises the black, softest furry blanket in her arm, "I got the extra blanket for you."

He tilts his head before getting on his feet in a quiet noise, although the sound of him stumbling can be felt through the floor.

He walks toward her before looking at the blanket in an interest. He looks at her before taking the blanket in his hands.

The furrow in his brows can be seen, where the confusion within his black eyes, "What--is---this?"

Dawn asks with a curiosity in her eyes, "You never use a blanket before. How do you sleep in the waters without getting cold."

He holds the blankets, although the stance in his body shows he's not sure what to do with it.

Dawn sighs out loud before taking the blanket from him. She walks around him before wrapping the black, furry blanket around his shoulder, which lies against his body.

Dawn walks around, she can see his body through the thick blanket, which almost covers him.

Dawn walks away, and although she can feel the stare of him, she stops at the edge of the bed before crawling on it.

She pushes the blanket on the side, so she can slide underneath it. The warmth of the blankets covers her, and she sighs out loud, which draws Iravan's attention.

Dawn saw him standing still, like a statue, "Aren't you coming here?"

Iravan walks closer to the bed before she can feel the bed sink under the weight of his body. He was crawling until he stopped next to her.

Dawn knew he wasn't tired, "How do you fall asleep in the water? What do you usually do if you can't sleep?"

Iravan looks at the bed before lying down with cautiousness, as he slowly lies on the bed.

Iravan speaks again with a hidden sorrow in his eyes, although Dawn can see it in the light, "My--sister--sings. Her--songs--help--me--sleep."

Dawn felt something, although it was as faint as the wind. She asks with uncertainty, "You said your song doesn't hurt others unless you want it to, so do you want to try singing?"

Iravan turns slowly toward her, where his pitch-black hair hides around his face, which makes his face look whiter, sharper, and leaner.

His hair, as blackest of the night, scattered across the blanket.

He nods with a nostalgic expression, he opens his mouth,

"I never knew the meaning of true heartbreak

I never knew I could be so lonely"

Dawn could feel the melancholy and despondent that dripped with every softly foreign word that came out of his mouth.

The melody was unworldly, yet the sound of the immature voice of a youth next to her continued to sing.

"I never knew my life could change so much

I never knew my heart could hurt this way

I never knew I'd still be here without you

I never knew such extreme emotional pain."

Although Dawn couldn't understand the words since he spoke in another language, the drowsiness behind her eyes grew heavier.

She was pulled into a deep sleep, where every limb in her body relaxed under the weight of the siren song.
