Seeking Kitty

Dawn was still wrestling with her next move. She felt a strong urge to track down Iravan and hear his perspective on the unfolding events.

But first, she had to locate Kitty, which meant finding Crown. She suspected Crown would be by Jonathan's side, especially since he had been poisoned.

Determined, she retraced her steps to the place where Jonathan was recuperating.

As she navigated through the lively throng of students, she took a few twists and turns before arriving at the nurse's room where Jonathan and Crown were.

Upon entering, she found Jonathan clad in hospital garb, propped up in bed while Crown gently fed him.

A weary yet warm smile spread across Jonathan's face as he spotted Dawn entering the room. Crown turned at the sound of the door creaking open, and Dawn inquired, "How are you?"

Jonathan shrugged nonchalantly before replying,

"I'm improving, but I'm eager to find out who wants me dead. What about you? Any exciting developments while I was out cold?"

Dawn nodded, her expression turning serious.

Crown and Jonathan exchanged glances, and then Crown asked, "What could possibly be worse than being poisoned?"

With a playful grin, she replied, "Well, it's not that dire. I just need to locate Kitty; I think she can assist me with something."

Crown groaned, "Hmm. What's the reason you need her?"

"I need her help to find something. Can you tell me where I might find her?"

Crown scrutinized her, searching her eyes for any hidden agendas.

After a moment, he sighed, "Fine. She's not too far from here; her room number is 230." Dawn expressed her gratitude, stepping further into the room.

"Thanks, and I hope you feel better soon, Jonathan."

He chuckled softly, followed by a weary sigh, looking fragile and worn under the bright lights.

As she stepped out of the room, the door closed with a gentle thud behind her, and she moved gracefully through the bustling crowd. Ascending the spiral staircase that led to room 230, she marveled at how close it was to her own room, just a few doors down. Standing in front of the door, she raised her hand to knock, but before she could make contact, the door swung open.

There stood Kitty, her eyes wide with surprise, her hair a wild mess despite being tied back in a ponytail, and a broad grin spreading across her face at the sight of Dawn.

"Well, well, well, what a delightful surprise!" Kitty exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with mischief.

Dawn returned the smile, "Actually, I need your help with something. I'm looking for a way to find a key."

Kitty stepped back, inviting her inside.

Dawn stepped through the doorway, her eyes widening as she took in the chaotic scene before her.

A sharp gasp escaped her lips at the disarray of the room: books strewn haphazardly across the bed, dirty dishes cluttering the table, and a pile of grimy clothes languishing in the corner.

Unsure of how to react, Dawn's expression was a mix of surprise and disbelief, which Kitty quickly noticed.

A grin spread across Kitty's face, though a hint of embarrassment flickered in her eyes. "Well, I certainly wasn't expecting company," she admitted with a rare, bashful tone.

Dawn chuckled softly, nodding in understanding. "It's fine," she replied.

Kitty crossing her arms in a feigned display of indifference, trying to project an air of confidence.

"But if I'm going to help you find that key, you need to assist me in locating a book so I can use the spell."

Dawn sighed at the sight of the disorganized books on the bed.

"How is it that you don't know where it is?" she asked, glancing at the various tomes, some of which promised to teach spells for baking cupcakes or nurturing plants.

As she circled the bed, something caught her eye—a book partially concealed beneath the covers.

She pulled it out, its title reading "Finding Missing Items." The volume felt substantial and ancient, its pages yellowed and frayed at the edges.

Holding it aloft, she inquired, "Is this the one?"

Kitty's face lit up with a grin as she nodded. "Yes, that's it! Now, bring it here." As Kitty took the book from Dawn's hands, she settled onto the floor, closed her eyes, and began to murmur softly in the stillness of the room. Dawn turned, sensing a movement behind her.

To her astonishment, a black pen began to levitate, soaring across the room before hovering above a blank sheet of paper in front of Kitty.

Kitty continued her incantation in a language that felt foreign and mystical, and the pen began to glide across the paper, writing as if guided by an unseen force.

The atmosphere was thick with silence, yet the pen danced gracefully, leaving behind words that seemed to materialize from thin air.

Dawn watched in awe, her heart racing with excitement, struggling to articulate the whirlwind of emotions swirling within her. Suddenly, the pen dropped onto the paper with a soft clack, Kitty opened her eyes and said, "I found the location."
