After Mia was finally calmed and was leaning on him for support after their intense kiss, Neil gently slid his hand down and placed it over her bulging belly, stroking it tenderly as he asked, "Are the babies alright?"
Mia placed her hand over his and nodded, though her eyes were filled with worry. "They're fine, but I fear not for long. They don't kick or move much like they used to," she informed him. She'd noticed a day ago that her babies, who usually moved and kicked a lot, were unusually silent in her belly. She hadn't felt them move even a single bit, and it would have scared her even more if she hadn't finally felt a little movement this morning.
Neil's heart clenched at her words, and he poked his index finger at the side of her stomach, frowning as if he were searching or waiting for something to happen.
"What are you doing?" Mia asked when she felt his finger pressing lightly to the side of her stomach, and his brows furrowed in concentration.
