Breakfast

Remo had let Tony bring them breakfast after they had finished cleaning the mess he had made.

Abby stared at the food on the dining table and salivated. It looked so good. Two plates of thick, fluffy, buttermilk waffles with coffee and orange juice . The decadent, cakey scent filled her senses and she nearly moaned. Each stack was piled high with fresh butter, and sweet smelling syrup. Hers were topped with strawberries, Remo's with blueberries. Her mouth watered.

They both dug in, and silence ensued. She didn't know about him, but the food was so good. One of the best she had had. She wondered where he had bought it. She groaned in appreciation as the sweet, maple taste coated her tongue.

Halfway through her waffles, she glanced sideways and found Remo watching her with subtle amusement. His eyes twinkled with some other, unnamed emotion, and she silently wondered what it was.
