Ruin everything

Cage frowned as the doorbell rang, interrupting the solitude of his evening. He hadn't been expecting anyone, especially not at this hour. Setting aside the document he had been reviewing, he made his way to the door, a sense of unease gnawing at the back of his mind.

Peering through the pinhole, he caught sight of Lily standing on the other side, her eyes red and swollen from crying. His heart skipped a beat at the sight of her distress, a surge of concern flooding through him as he wondered what could have happened to bring her here.

For a moment, he debated whether to answer the door or ignore her altogether.

But then, seeing the raw vulnerability in Lily's eyes, he knew he couldn't turn her away. With a resigned sigh, he unlocked the door and swung it open, his expression guarded as he regarded her with a mixture of curiosity and apprehension.

"Lily," he greeted her, his voice tinged with uncertainty. "What are you doing here?"
