Not a Threat

James pulled up to Otis's sprawling estate, the afternoon sun casting a warm glow over the perfectly manicured lawns. He hadn't seen his old friend in months, and he looked forward to catching up.

As he made his way up the steps and rang the doorbell, James felt a mix of anticipation and unease. He knew today's visit would be more than just a social call.

The door swung open to reveal Otis, his face breaking into a broad smile. "James, my friend! It's been too long," he exclaimed, pulling him into a bear hug.

"It's good to see you, Otis," James replied, patting his friend's back. "I hope I'm not intruding."

"Not at all. Come in, come in," Otis said, stepping aside to let him in. "Alex and Lily are in the living room. They were just about to go out, but I'm sure they'll be glad to see you."
