Forgiveness

Abby stared at Cage, hardly recognizing the man kneeling in front of her. He looked awful, broken. His shoulders slumped, and his eyes were filled with a desperate plea that cut through her like a knife. She couldn't believe what he was asking from her. How could he? After everything they'd been through, how could he dare to betray her like this?

Years of bullying, of her killing herself over and over in her mind, the mental torture, the psychosis—now he was asking her to help her bully? The person who had made her life a living hell? Abby wanted to laugh. She did laugh, a bitter, hollow sound that echoed through the room. If someone had told her this would happen someday, she would've told them they were crazy.

"Please, Abby—help me. Forgive Lily. I know it's hard, but please, for my sake," Cage pleaded, his voice trembling. "She's a changed person. I will let her apologize to you."
