The truth

The front door opened, and Remo stepped inside. He looked tense, his eyes scanning the room before they landed on her. Abby forced a smile, but it quickly faded when she saw the seriousness in his gaze.

"Hey," she greeted him, trying to sound casual. "How did it go?"

Remo didn't answer immediately. Instead, he walked over and sat down beside her, taking her hands in his. The warmth of his touch contrasted sharply with the cold dread pooling in her stomach.

"We need to talk, Abby," he said softly, his voice tinged with a mix of concern and something else—something that sent a chill down her spine.

"What's wrong?" she asked, her voice trembling.

"I went to see Nicole," Remo began, his eyes searching hers. "She showed me something. Something about your past."

Abby's heart skipped a beat, and she felt her hands start to shake. "What did she show you?"
