Viscount Marswe's Ball (1)

Ryker held out a hand for Raquel, helping her out of their carriage. Behind him, other nobles were entering the small mansion of Viscount Marswe. Soft music filled the night air, the ball in full swing.

When the two got to the grand entrance of the mansion, a servant stood there waiting for them. He led them to a ballroom where a middle aged man held a scroll in his hand, there to announce guests.

“Duke Westerwyn and the Crown Princess of the Cadilaria Empire.” Ryker murmured to the middle aged servant who nodded in understanding.

The servant then cleared his throat before he cried out, “Announcing her highness, Crown Princess Raquel of Cadilaria and her consort, Duke Ryker of Westerwyn.”

As he announced them, the two walked inside the ballroom. Murmurs filled the room as people turned to look at them. Viscount Marswe quickly hurried over to them.

“Greetings, your highnesses.” The old man bowed. “I’m glad to have you at my humble home.”

Raquel nodded. “Thank you for having us.”
