“This is madness!” One of the emperor's lackeys, Lord Deshves yelled. “What kind of father would harm their child?!”
“Silence!” Grand Duke Harris snapped, sending a glare Lord Deshves’ way. “Nobles are not to interfere with her highness’ claims. There will be time to question her after her statements are complete… Speak again and you'll be charged for hinding this hearing.”
Lord Deshves gulped at the grand duke's words, sitting back down. Raquel glanced at him for a moment before turning back to the grand duke.
“Thank you, your grace…” Raquel murmured. “To answer Lord Deshves’ question, it's the same father who would send their heir to the battlefield as a child and be behind the late empress’ murder.”
Grand Duke Harris frowned. “I understand your highness may have personal grudges when it comes to the late empress, however, her murder case had been solved for years. The murderer was a jealous servant.”
