A Convincing Argument (I)

"And what exactly do you mean by that? All I know is that you and I have signed a contract, and now it's your turn to pay up." Randolph narrowed his eyes at the group, staring daggers at Gary in particular.

The man, already timid, tried to move deeper into the crowd, but Randolph singled him out with his gaze.

"Well? What do you have to say for yourself?"

"…Y-you're asking us to die."

It was only under Randolph's repeated prodding that the man hesitantly spoke up.

"You think I wouldn't know about this neighbourhood? Anyone who lives within the neighbouring cities should know, it's a god damned hotspot for crime. I don't know if it's that building in specific but I know that there's a certain group active around here…"

While homeless people usually had muddled minds, they had much more street knowledge than most people. This was vital in helping them survive, but it was a barrier to Randolph's plans.
