Chapter 60: The Best Day

With one of my trusted employees and lover gone, I reflected on my actions. Despite having a lot of secretaries in the HR department, Elanor was one of those people I found irreplaceable. She might have a different sense of morality, and her conscience probably caught up.

If I were to become stronger, some things needed to be sacrificed. I could not allow myself to be bogged down with such problems. However, with Elanor leaving my ranks, my heart could not take it.

For two days I spent my time alone in my room. I ordered my bodyguards not to let anyone in. I wasted myself on this weird-tasting drink named, whiskey. Chugging down glass after glass until I became unconscious.

I did not respond to any calls as well and became a shut-in. My things inside were in disarray with the room reeking of alcohol.

"Mr. Shayne… wake up! Mr. Shayne!" Walther tried to wake me up, but I groaned in reply.
